Why are Himba's at Gelbingen ?

On one of our Himba tours we came upon a village occupied by woman and children only, it soon became evident that they were very poor as they possessed neither cattle nor goats and hardly any food to eat. The situation in this village became critical over a period and it became apparent that they would not be able to survive and although a supply chain was setup the costs became prohibitive and a study was commissioned to relocate this village to more fertile grounds.

They have resettled well and continue their life as they know it at Gelbingen
